The first Sacofgas workshop was born in Milan in 1927 and in few years grew up becoming an important company; here it offered the management of the complete cycle of gas production and distribution plant; from central production to terminal meters.
This gave to the young firm the chance to contribute to the development of the gas service in Italy.
In the Fifties, when Natural Gas came in Italy, Sacofgas effected an industrial conversion aimed mainly at producing instruments for the measurement of consumption, renouncing to produce gasometers.
Since that moment Sacofgas aims at the greatest possible specialization which will satisfy both the industrial needs of the market and the commercial requirements caused by an ever increasing use of Natural Gas.
In 1970 was built the new plant in Città di Castello (Perugia) Italy. The assembly lines for mass production, as like the limited batch production of special apparatus, the modern testing room, the several plants and the delivery department are located there.
All Sacofgas’ meters, before being put on the market, are individually tested by a sophisticated electronic control apparatus, designed and made by Sacofgas.
Since 1996 Sacofgas is certified and operates in accordance with UNI EN ISO 9001 Standards.
According to Dir. 71/318/EEC and to ministerial directive of the forth of may 2001 with measure having protocol number 1350235 of the first february 2002, Sacofgas 1927 spa has obteined the delegation for EEC Verification.
The 5th of march 2004 was signed a trade agreement for the integration of the industrial activities with Wayne Pignone, a Company of Wayne Dresser Group.
Since July 2004 the trade name is changed in Sacofgas 1927 SpA confering upon the society’ s Year of birth.
January 2005, Sacofgas signed a trade agreement that allow to have the esclusive rights of sale for the products of Common Sa (PL), a leading company in the design and construction of turbin gas flow meters and quantometers.
